The 1923 (D) Peace Dollar represents a Denver Mint issue from the Peace Dollars 1921-1935 series. With a mintage of 6.8 million, this is a less common issue — the lowest mintage among 3 mint variants, representing only 12% of total production. The obverse features a youthful Liberty facing left wearing a radiate crown, designed after sculptor Anthony de Francisci's wife Teresa and the reverse displays a bald eagle perched on a rock above the word PEACE, with rays of sunlight.
