Description
Produced at the Denver Mint, the 1962 (D) Roosevelt Dime is part of the Roosevelt Silver Dimes 1946-1964 series. The U.S. Mint produced 334.9 million examples, making this the higher-mintage of the two mint variants, representing 82% of production. The obverse features Franklin D. Roosevelt facing left, honoring the president who championed the March of Dimes and the reverse displays a torch flanked by olive and oak branches, symbolizing liberty, peace, and strength. Minted during the post-war economic boom, the final era of silver circulating coinage in the United States before the Coinage Act of 1965. Coined at Denver's facility, which transitioned from processing Colorado gold rush metal to full-scale coin production in 1906.
