Third obverse doubled die documented for the 1964 Roosevelt silver dime, DDO-003 shows light spread on IN GOD WE TRUST, the designer's initials JS side by side, the date, and the LI of LIBERTY. Sinnock's Roosevelt dime design, in continuous production since 1946, places the designer's initials JS at the base of Roosevelt's neck truncation — a position where even light doubling produces a visible secondary set of letters. VarietyVista assigned identifiers UVC-432 and DMR-007, with three die stages documented: Stage A at early die state (unconfirmed), Stage B where both obverse and reverse surfaces are at mid die state (confirmed), and Stage C at late die state (unconfirmed). The MDS confirmation for Stage B establishes that moderately worn die specimens have been examined and verified. A notable comment specifies this obverse as ODV-011 (blunt 9), identifying a distinct obverse design variant characterized by a numeral 9 in the date that displays a blunted or truncated tail rather than the typical curved termination. This blunt 9 characteristic provides an additional die identification marker independent of the doubling itself, allowing collectors to narrow their search before examining for the doubled die diagnostics. Philadelphia struck approximately 929.3 million silver dimes in 1964, the final year of 90% silver composition, generating extensive die usage across what would become the last mass-production silver dime date.
