Description

Cataloged by the Wexler Team as 1964 10c Pr WDDO-003, this proof Roosevelt Silver Dime presents a Class V counterclockwise spread from a pivot at approximately 11 o'clock, showing on the date and John R. Sinnock's designer initials JS. The pivot point at 11 o'clock — positioned in the upper left area of the obverse — serves as the center of rotation around which the hub shifted during the secondary impression, generating a counterclockwise arc of displacement that manifests as spread on design elements positioned away from the pivot. The date and designer initials, located at the lower portions of the obverse, sit far enough from the 11 o'clock pivot to accumulate meaningful angular displacement that translates to visible spread. A pointed tail on the 9 in the date provides a secondary obverse diagnostic, though no other significant die markers were found on the obverse.
