The 1994 Women in Military Service Memorial Commemorative Dollar is a United States commemorative dollar. Authorized to raise funds for the Women in Military Service for America Memorial at the ceremonial entrance to Arlington National Cemetery. The memorial, dedicated in 1997, honors the approximately 3 million women who have served in the U.S. armed forces since the American Revolution. The obverse features five servicewomen representing the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard, standing side by side, while the reverse displays the Hemicycle, the semicircular structure of the Women in Military Service for America Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery. Designed by T. James Ferrell/Thomas D. Rogers. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. The Women in Military Service dollar is one of the few commemoratives specifically honoring the contributions of women in the military, depicting all five service branches.
