Description

The 1994 (P) Proof Women Military Dollar is a proof commemorative dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint. The U.S. Mint produced 241,278 examples. Authorized to raise funds for the Women in Military Service for America Memorial at the ceremonial entrance to Arlington National Cemetery. The obverse features five servicewomen representing the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard, standing side by side, while the reverse displays the Hemicycle, the semicircular structure of the Women in Military Service for America Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery. Designed by T. James Ferrell/Thomas D. Rogers. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #9695. The Women in Military Service dollar is one of the few commemoratives specifically honoring the contributions of women in the military, depicting all five service branches.
