Description
The 1964 Roosevelt Dime is a dime produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Roosevelt Silver Dimes 1946-1964 series. The U.S. Mint produced 929.4 million examples, making this the lower-mintage of the two mint variants. The obverse features Franklin D. Roosevelt facing left, honoring the president who championed the March of Dimes and the reverse displays a torch flanked by olive and oak branches, symbolizing liberty, peace, and strength. The final year of 90% silver dime production before the Coinage Act of 1965 changed the composition to clad. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $7 to $12 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 2.5 grams, 17.9 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #5128.
