The 2024 Greatest Generation Commemorative Half Dollar is a United States commemorative half dollar. Part of the Greatest Generation three-coin program, this half dollar connects the wartime Victory Medal imagery to the modern memorial. The WWII Memorial features 56 granite pillars representing the states, territories, and District of Columbia during the war. The obverse features a reimagining of the figure of Liberation from the WWII Victory Medal, while the reverse displays the National WWII Memorial from the point of view of a person walking up a ramp to one of the towers. Designed by Elana Hagler and Craig A. Campbell (obverse), Matt Swaim and John P. McGraw (reverse). Struck in nickel clad copper-n, weighing 11.34 grams, 30.6 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. The Greatest Generation half dollar offers a visitor's perspective of the WWII Memorial, inviting viewers to experience the monument's grandeur.
