Description

Produced at the Philadelphia Mint, the 2021 (P) Jefferson Nickel is part of the Jefferson Nickels Return to Monticello 2006 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 785.5 million examples, making this the lower-mintage of the two mint variants. The obverse features Thomas Jefferson facing forward in a three-quarter view, the first forward-facing portrait on a U.S. circulating coin and the reverse displays Monticello in a refined depiction. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. The Philadelphia Mint, America's oldest coin-making facility, has struck coins continuously since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $0 to $1 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 75% copper, 25% nickel, weighing 5 grams, 21.2 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Cataloged as PCGS #852837.
