Description
The 2008 (P) Presidential Dollar - Andrew Jackson, Position B is a dollar from the Philadelphia Mint, belonging to the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. Total mintage reached 61.2 million. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year, while the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. Designed by Joel Iskowitz/Don Everhart. Struck in 88.5% copper, 6% zinc, 3.5% manganese and 2% nickel, weighing 8.1 grams, 26.5 mm in diameter, with a lettered edge. Cataloged as PCGS #394856. The Presidential Dollar Program (2007-2016, continuing with deceased presidents) issued dollar coins honoring each president in chronological order. The 2007 Washington dollar "Godless Dollar" error (missing edge inscription) attracted widespread media attention. Position A and Position B edge lettering varieties are collected.
