2000 Type I Counter Clash CCLTI-10C-2000-01
Error
Description
CCL(TI)-10c-2000-01 The corresponding view of the obverse shows the clash marks of the stem in front of the forehead and then below the olive in front of the lips. Now on the obverse (left) the base of the portrait and the tip of the number 2 have also been transferred back to the obverse die. A corresponding view of the reverse die and the outline of the portrait clashes. An approximation overlay shows the first misaligned clash in green with the second in yellow. As the first clash left a strong enough impression of the opposing die in certain areas, when it migrated over and clashed again it brought back some of those design elements creating a Type 1 Counterclash. A complete overlay is at the bottom of the page.
