The 1995 Atlanta Centennial Olympic Games - Baseball Commemorative Half Dollar is a United States commemorative half dollar. Part of the Atlanta Centennial Olympic Games program, this half dollar celebrates baseball, which was a medal sport at the 1996 Games. Cuba won the gold medal, with Japan taking silver and the United States earning bronze. The obverse features a batter at the plate with a catcher and umpire behind him, while the reverse displays the logo of the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games on a depiction of a world map centered on the Atlantic Ocean. Designed by Edgar Z. Steever/T. James Ferrell. Struck in 75% copper, 25% nickel over a pure copper center, weighing 11.34 grams, 30.6 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. The baseball half dollar is a crossover collectible popular with baseball memorabilia collectors as well as numismatists.
