Documented by VarietyVista with die markers UVC-509 and DMR-004, this 1968-D Roosevelt Dime RPM-003 exhibits a D/D North repunch direction as noted in the comments — meaning the initial D mintmark impression was placed slightly south of the intended position, and the corrective second punch northward left the first impression partially visible below the final placement. Three die stages are documented: Stage A in early die state (EDS), unconfirmed; Stage B at mid-die-state where both the obverse and reverse are documented as MDS; and Stage C at late die state (LDS), unconfirmed. The 1968-D Roosevelt Dime is significant in the broader context of the Roosevelt Dime series because it represents the early post-silver era — the denomination transitioned from 90% silver to copper-nickel clad composition after 1964, with no dimes struck for circulation in 1965–1967 as the Mint managed the transition. Designed by John R.
