Description

Designated by the Wexler Team as 1964 10-cent Pr WDDR-012, this proof Roosevelt Dime exhibits a close clockwise spread from a pivot at approximately 3 o'clock, affecting UNITED, E PLU of E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the left dot flanking the motto. The 3 o'clock pivot produces rotational displacement concentrated on elements opposite the pivot axis, with UNITED and the partial motto inscription receiving the most visible separation between primary and secondary hub impressions. The obverse carries a distinctive date characteristic: a blunt tail on the numeral 9, where the digit's tail terminates abruptly rather than tapering to a fine point. This blunt 9 serves as the primary die marker for obverse identification, while no significant reverse die markers have been documented beyond the doubling itself. John R.
