1952-D Repunched Mintmark RPM-003

Description

With a D/D Rotated CW displacement using MMS-002 (Small) mintmark punch, this 1952 Denver Roosevelt Dime was documented by VarietyVista. Die markers UVC-788 / DMR-004: Stage A EDS (unconfirmed); Stage B MDS (unconfirmed); Stage C LDS with a light die crack on the bottom of the torch and a die crack from head to rim at K-2:00. The two late-state die cracks represent characteristic failure patterns: torch cracking along the narrow vertical design, and the head-to-rim crack following a stress path from high-relief portrait to the edge. The clockwise rotation creates varying separation around the D. Sinnock's design was struck in 90% silver and 10% copper at 2.50 grams and 17.91 mm. The Small mintmark punch identification (MMS-002) helps track which physical D punch was in service at the Philadelphia die shop during the early 1950s. D/D Rotated CW.
