A die scratch runs from the lower 9 to the left end of the horizontal bar of the 4. A short heavy die gouge runs east from the lower 1, A strong die scratch runs above the center bar of the E in LIBERTY. Reverse: A heavy die gouge connects the lower Q and U in QUARTER. A strong die scratch runs through the lower ARTER DOLLAR. A short strong die gouge runs west from the top of the I in AMERICA. Numerous other die scratches run throughout USA.
