The 1925 (S) Peace Dollar was struck at the San Francisco Mint as a dollar in the Peace Dollars 1921-1935 series. With a mintage of 1.6 million, this is a scarce issue — the scarcer of two mint variants, with 14% of total production. The obverse features a youthful Liberty facing left wearing a radiate crown, designed after sculptor Anthony de Francisci's wife Teresa and the reverse displays a bald eagle perched on a rock above the word PEACE, with rays of sunlight.
