Description
1882-S VAM-22 Doubled 882 Discovered by Martin Field, October 1978. 22 III2 10 - C3a (Doubled 882) (186) Obverse III2 10 - First 8 is doubled strongly on left inside and slightly on right outside of upper loop with spikes of metal between loops on both sides. Second 8 is doubled strongly on left outside of upper loop, slightly at bottom outside of lower loop and has a die chip between loops on right side. 2 is doubled on left side of upper loop. Slightly doubled top of Phrygian cap. Reverse C3a - Medium mint mark centered and upright. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Exact same obverse die used to produce 1882-S VAM-8, 1882-S VAM-11 & 1882-S VAM-22.
