As WDDO-001 for the 2025 Jefferson nickel, this variety holds the primary obverse doubled die designation for one of the most recent dates in the series. Classified as Class VIII Tilted Hub Doubling, the variety exhibits doubling on both of Jefferson's eyelids and his nose — facial features on the forward-facing portrait that replaced Felix Schlag's original left-profile design when the Westward Journey series modifications were made permanent with the Return to Monticello reverse introduced in 2006. Class VIII tilted hub doubling occurs when the working hub tilts rather than pivoting or rotating during the secondary impression, creating a distinctive pattern where the displacement varies across the die face in a manner different from standard rotational misalignment. The reverse die carries a die gouge to the left of the F in FIVE, providing a secondary diagnostic for confirming the correct die marriage, while no significant obverse markers were noted beyond the doubled die characteristic itself.
