2025 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-002
ErrorDescription
Documented by Brian A. Ribar and cross-referenced as Wexler Variety ID 2025-P WDDR-002, this Jefferson Nickel presents Class VIII tilted hub doubling across three areas of the Monticello reverse: above the center steps, inside the large semicircular window, and on the letters NTC of MONTICELLO. The three-zone spread indicates a pronounced rotational offset during hubbing. An obverse die marker — a small die gouge to the right of the N in IN — provides a screening point on the portrait side. Two reverse markers supplement the doubling: a die gouge on the top portion of the center door frame and a die gouge to the upper right of the E of FIVE. The 2025-P Jefferson Nickel is among the most recently dated entries in the Wexler catalog, and WDDR-002's early sequence number indicates it was one of the first reverse doubled dies identified for this date. Brian A. Ribar's photographic documentation supports the Wexler system's continued expansion into current-year coinage.
