Among the densest single-date DDO clusters in U.S. cent history, the 2017-P sequence demonstrates how modern production volumes create statistical certainty that some dies will exhibit hub misalignment. Philadelphia consumed hundreds of obverse dies during the 2017 production year, each requiring multiple hub impressions to achieve full design depth in the working die cavity.
