Description

The first documented atypical die clash for the 2013 Jefferson Nickel from the Philadelphia Mint, cataloged by MadDieClashes as ADC-5C-2013-01, this variety records a non-standard die clash event during production of the Return to Monticello design. Atypical die clashes encompass a range of irregular contact events between the obverse and reverse dies when no planchet is present — conditions that produce clash mark patterns inconsistent with what a centered, parallel impact would create.
