The Presidential dollar weighs 8.1 grams with a 26.5 mm diameter and is struck in a manganese-brass clad composition that gives these coins their distinctive golden color. Edge lettering, applied in a separate manufacturing step after striking, includes the date, mintmark, and the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. The WDDO-003 designation indicates this is the third cataloged doubled die obverse for the John Quincy Adams Presidential dollar, demonstrating that multiple hub doubling events occurred across the working dies produced for this issue.
