2008 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-008

Description

A third cataloged listing for the 2008-P John Quincy Adams Presidential Dollar WDDR-008, this variety was documented by the Wexler Team showing slight doubling on the right arm of the Statue of Liberty just above the sleeve of the robe. The Presidential Dollar, struck at the Philadelphia Mint in manganese brass clad composition at 8.10 grams and 26.5 mm diameter, features Don Everhart's Statue of Liberty reverse common to the entire Presidential series. John Quincy Adams, the sixth president and son of founding father John Adams, served from 1825 to 1829 as shown on the edge inscription. Die markers include an obverse die gouge appearing as a dot to the right of the center of the J in JOHN, along with reverse markers of a die gouge on the upper right of the Liberty tablet and a die chip on the upper serif of the dollar sign.
