Description

The 1996 (S) Atlanta Centennial Olympic Games Swimming Commemorative Half Dollar is a cent produced at the San Francisco Mint as part of the Modern Commemorative Half Dollars (1982-Date) series. With a mintage of 49,533, this is a scarce issue — the lower-mintage of the two mint variants. The obverse features designs varying by commemorative issue and the reverse displays designs varying by commemorative issue. Struck after the transition from silver to clad coinage, as the Mint adapted to modern production methods and record-breaking mintages.
