1995-D Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-007

Description

Displaying a close Class V counterclockwise spread from a pivot point at approximately 9:00, this 1995 Denver Mint Lincoln Memorial Cent doubled die obverse shows doubling on WE TRUST, with slight evidence on the date and mintmark. Class V pivoted hub doubling occurs when the hub rotates around a fixed point during hubbing, producing spread that radiates outward — in this case from the 9:00 position, placing the strongest doubling away from the pivot. Cross-referenced as CONECA 2-O-V and Coppercoins 1995D-1DO-002, this variety carries three independent catalog attributions including Wexler Variety ID 1995-D 1c WDDO-007. Obverse die markers include two nearly horizontal die scratches just above the hair southwest of the first T in TRUST and a die gouge appearing as a dot above the E in LIBERTY. While Philadelphia's 1995 WDDO-001 dominated the variety spotlight, Denver's production yielded its own catalog of doubled die varieties, and WDDO-007 demonstrates that hubbing anomalies were not confined to a single facility.
