Reaching late die state before documentation, the 1989D-1DER-006T trail die reverse is classified at Stage C (LDS), indicating this die had endured extensive production use by the time its trail features were recorded. The T (Tilted) designation identifies the hubbing anomaly as a tilted contact between hub and working die during manufacture, producing trail lines at an angular offset from the primary design elements. The obverse carries two diagnostic markers: a small die dot positioned above the mintmark and a die gouge under the 8 digit in the date. The reverse shows a small dot on the left side of the D in UNITED.
