Description

Tracked under die markers UVC-3375 and DMR-014, DDO-013 on the 1970 Lincoln Memorial cent shows a medium spread as an extra bar above the 70 of the date — doubling that affects both digits simultaneously, indicating the hub displacement produced secondary elements above the upper edges of both the 7 and 0. The UVC number in the 3300s places DDO-013 significantly later in the cataloging sequence than the core 2200-series varieties. Medium spread above the 70 provides a clear attribution target: under 10x magnification, a distinct secondary line should trace the tops of both digits, with its curvature matching the design contours precisely. This geometric consistency distinguishes genuine hub doubling from the irregular thickening caused by die deterioration. Collectors should also note which date style — Large Date or Small Date — their DDO-013 specimens exhibit, as this secondary classification adds another dimension to the variety's identification.
