Reported by Lee Lydston, DDR-006 on the 1970-D Washington Quarter exhibits a complex multi-mechanism doubling pattern. Medium spread appears on QUARTER, lower branches, leaves, inside wing feathers, and stems on John Flanagan's reverse, while UNITED simultaneously displays clockwise rotational spread. This combination of standard spread and CW rotational displacement on different elements suggests a compound hubbing event involving both lateral shift and angular rotation between impressions. The breadth of affected features — from denomination inscription through botanical details to the eagle's plumage — indicates displacement across nearly the full reverse surface at medium intensity. The reverse is paired with RDV-006/RDV-007, a dual reverse die variety designation. The 1970-D Washington Quarter was struck at the Denver Mint in copper-nickel clad composition. Examine QUARTER, branches, and wing feathers under 5x to 7x magnification for the medium spread, then inspect UNITED for the distinct CW rotational component.
