Die markers UVC-1360 and DMR-013 confirm this working die. The 1969-S was produced at the San Francisco Mint during the second year after mintmarks returned to circulating coinage following the 1965-1967 removal, and the S mintmark appears in the standard position to the right of Monticello on Felix Schlag's reverse. DDR-002's catalog position behind DDR-001 indicates it was either the second variety documented or considered second in significance for the date-mint, and its light spread classification suggests subtler doubling than the primary DDR-001.
