Positioned seventh in the Wexler obverse doubled die census for the 1960 Washington quarter proof, WDDO-007 reveals a spread directed toward the center affecting IN GOD WE TRUST, LIBERTY, and the date — three widely separated design elements whose simultaneous involvement points to a broad hub misalignment during die preparation. John Flanagan's Washington quarter obverse, adopted in 1932 after a design competition honoring the bicentennial of George Washington's birth, places these inscriptions at distinct compass points around the portrait, meaning a single angular displacement of the hub can generate visible doubling across multiple zones simultaneously.
