1958-D Repunched Mintmark RPM-002

Description

Featuring a D/D Rotated CCW displacement, this 1958 Denver Washington Quarter was documented by VarietyVista with an angular mintmark misalignment. Die markers UVC-1881 / DMR-004: Stage A EDS (unconfirmed); Stage B MDS with reverse MDS, a die crack on forehead and hair, a die crack above the eyebrow, and a die chip on the nose; Stage C LDS (unconfirmed). The trio of obverse deterioration features at Stage B — forehead crack, eyebrow crack, and nose chip — documents concentrated facial-area structural failure at mid-die state. Flanagan's design was struck in 90% silver and 10% copper at 6.25 grams and 24.3 mm. Counterclockwise rotation creates a non-parallel D overlap where separation varies around the perimeter, providing a unique fingerprint for this die's misalignment. D/D Rotated CCW. Rotated RPMs are diagnostically more interesting than simple directional shifts.
