Both dies register at Stage A, early die state, with no notable attribution markers on either the obverse or reverse beyond the trail die impressions themselves. The "PR" in the catalog code confirms this is a proof striking, produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the 1957 proof set, which had a mintage of 1,247,952 sets. Proof coins were struck on specially polished planchets using carefully prepared mirror-finish dies, making trail die discoveries on proofs especially noteworthy because the controlled production environment should theoretically minimize contamination between die sets.
