1957-D Repunched Mintmark RPM-001

Description

Holding the primary catalog position for the 1957-D date, this VarietyVista-documented Roosevelt Silver Dime shows a D/D Rotated CW displacement with a notable obverse die change mid-production. Die markers span two pairings: UVC-298 / DMR-002 covers Stage A at EDS (unconfirmed) and Stage B with numerous random die scratches on reverse at MDS and a large die break on the upper lip at MDS. Then UVC-299 / DMR-003 covers Stage C with die scratches North-South on reverse at LMDS, an obverse die changed at MDS, and a die chip on the nostril. Stage D is LDS (unconfirmed). The lip die break and nostril die chip document facial-area deterioration across successive die pairings. Designed by John R. Sinnock, struck at Denver in 90% silver and 10% copper at 2.50 grams and 17.91 mm, the clockwise rotation creates non-uniform D overlap.
