Description
Cross-referenced as FS-502, this San Francisco Mint Washington silver quarter displays an S/S North displacement using MMS-002 punch style. The obverse is identified as ODV-006 (Thin Motto), adding a secondary attribution point. Die markers UVC-0806 / DMR-006: Stage A at EDS (unconfirmed); Stage B at MDS (unconfirmed); Stage C with a die crack down the eagle's right wing at LDS and obverse also at LDS. The eagle wing die crack at late die state provides a clear identification marker for advanced-stage specimens. Composed of 90% silver and 10% copper at 6.25 grams and 24.26 mm, the 1952-S Washington quarter was struck at San Francisco during the final decade of silver quarter production. The Thin Motto obverse die variant (ODV-006) denotes a thinner-than-normal IN GOD WE TRUST legend. FS-502.
