Description
The 1952 (D) Franklin Half Dollar is a half dollar produced at the Denver Mint as part of the Franklin Half Dollars 1948-1963 series. The U.S. Mint produced 25.4 million examples, making this the highest mintage among 3 variants, accounting for 49% of the year's production. The obverse features Benjamin Franklin facing right and the reverse displays the Liberty Bell. Three-mint production continued. The 1952-S is a common date but scarce with Full Bell Lines. Struck at the Denver Mint, established in 1906 from an earlier assay office that processed Colorado gold rush metal. Estimated market value ranges from $37 to $171 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 12.5 grams, 30 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #6662.
