Description
The 1952 (D) Franklin Half Dollar, struck at the Denver Mint, is part of the Franklin Half Dollars 1948-1963 collection. The U.S. Mint produced 25.4 million examples, making this the highest mintage among 3 variants, accounting for 49% of the year's production. The obverse features Benjamin Franklin facing right and the reverse displays the Liberty Bell. Three-mint production continued. The 1952-S is a common date but scarce with Full Bell Lines. Coined at Denver's facility, which transitioned from processing Colorado gold rush metal to full-scale coin production in 1906. Estimated market value ranges from $37 to $171 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 12.5 grams, 30 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #6662.
