1951 Doubled Die Obverse DDO-001

Description

Primary doubled die obverse for the 1951 Roosevelt Silver Dime, DDO-001 shows medium spread on the designer's initials JS and the words IN and WE from the motto, with lighter spread extending to all outside hair curls of Roosevelt's portrait. The hair curl doubling is particularly noteworthy because the flowing, organic lines of the hairstyle amplify even modest hub displacement into visible secondary contours.
