1946-D Repunched Mintmark RPM-003

Description

Exhibiting a D/D/D North, Serifs triple-punched mintmark, this 1946-D Washington Silver Quarter was documented by VarietyVista with the obverse also listed as DDO-010, creating a dual-variety coin. Die markers UVC-0623 / DMR-011 track three stages: Stage A at EDS (unconfirmed); Stage B with reverse and obverse at MDS; Stage C with a die crack down the eagle's right wing at LDS and a light die crack across the bust at LDS. The "Serifs" notation indicates a specific punch style with decorative terminal strokes on the D letter, adding tooling documentation. Designed by John Flanagan, struck at Denver in 90% silver and 10% copper at 6.25 grams and 24.3 mm during the first post-war year.
