Description

Cataloged by the Wexler Team as 1945 25-cent WDDO-002 and cross-referenced as CONECA 5-O-V, this Washington Silver Quarter obverse presents a clockwise spread from a pivot point at approximately the 1 o'clock position, visible on IN GOD WE TRUST, the LIBE of LIBERTY, the lower ribbon, the designer's initials JF (John Flanagan), and the date. The pivoted clockwise spread means the secondary hub impression was rotated slightly clockwise around a point near the 1 o'clock position on the die face, producing displacement that increases with distance from the pivot — elements closer to the pivot (like the upper right area near 1 o'clock) show minimal offset while those further away (like IGWT and the date at the bottom) show progressively greater displacement. Obverse die markers include a die gouge to the right of the bottom of the L in LIBERTY and a die gouge north of the G in GOD.
