Description

Very strong spread on IN GOD WE TRUST, date, designer's initials, ribbon end, LIBERTY, and profile makes DDO-011 one of the most comprehensive DDOs for the 1943 Washington Silver Quarter. Cross-referenced as FS-103 (Cherry Pickers' Guide). Die markers: UVC-0297, DMR-012. Stage A: EDS (unconfirmed). Stage B: Obverse MDS, short heavy die gouge from eagle's throat below beak at MDS. Stage C: LDS (unconfirmed). Struck in 90% silver during WWII, the "very strong" designation indicates dramatic displacement across virtually every major obverse element. Cataloged by VarietyVista.
