Error
Description
Very strong Class VI extra thickness shows on all digits of the date, especially the lower 9, the letters of LIBERTY, and the letters of IGWT. Die Markers: Obverse: A short die gouge protrudes from the top right of the 0 in the date. Vertical die scratches can be found in front of the eye. Reverse: The reverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1940 1¢ WDDR-004 with fairly strong extra thickness to EPU, the dots, both wheat ears and stems, the outer letters of USA, and the upper letters of ONE.
