1937 Doubled Die Obverse DDO-002

Description

Complementing the DDO-001 for the same date, this 1937 Buffalo Nickel DDO-002 reverses the doubling emphasis: strong extra thickness appears on the profile of the Native American portrait, with light extra thickness on LIBERTY and the date. Die markers include UVC-238 and die marriage DMR-004. Stage B documents both the obverse and reverse in Mid-Die State, while Stage A in Early Die State and Stage C in Late Die State remain unconfirmed. The inverted doubling pattern compared to DDO-001, where the profile receives the strongest doubling rather than the lettering, indicates a different direction or magnitude of hub displacement during die preparation.
