Recognized by extra thickness on the date, LIBERTY, and IN GOD WE TRUST, this 1924 Lincoln Wheat Cent DDO-001 is the principal doubled die obverse for the year. Die markers include UVC-1271 and DMR-002. Three die stages track the die's service life: Stage A in early die state (unconfirmed); Stage B with both obverse and reverse at mid-die state; and Stage C in late die state (unconfirmed). The confirmed mid-die state pairing at Stage B represents the most commonly encountered condition for this variety, balancing readable doubling with moderate die wear. Extra thickness across the date, LIBERTY, and motto follows the same broad-coverage pattern seen on other early 1920s Wheat Cent doubled dies, where hub displacement affected the full obverse field.
