Description

Documented by LVA in September 1981, VAM-19 on the 1900 Morgan Dollar is classified III228 · C4/C3d, entry 189 — 2 Olive Reverse, 0 in Denticles. The obverse date is in normal position, but the top of the 0 in 1900 intrudes into the denticles as a curved bar between the two 0s. The reverse is compound: the C4 component adds an extra olive connected to the branch, while C3d shows doubling at the base of the left and lower olive leaf clusters, at the back of the lower arrowhead, and right of the two innermost right wing feathers near the leg. The 0-in-denticles obverse feature is the fastest triage trigger. The extra olive on the C4 reverse is the most photogenic diagnostic. The 1900-P Morgan Dollar is a 90% silver Philadelphia Mint issue. 1900-P VAM-19 2 Olive Reverse, 0 in Denticles Discovered by Leroy Van Allen, September 1981.
