1882-P VAM-21 Metal in Date, Doubled Upper Reverse Discovered by Mike Emswiler, May 1998., Revised 2014 21 (revised) III2 1 · C3b (Metal in Date, Doubled Upper Reverse) (176) Obverse III2 1 – Raised metal with polishing lines in both loops in both 8's & 2. A hub defect. Die marker - Heavy polishing lines in hair and cap with lines at right inside of ear. Reverse C3b – Doubled tops of In God We Trust and slightly on bottom insides of TED STATES. Die marker - Vertical Die scratch on 2 & 3 inner feathers from bottom of eagle's left wing. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments This shares the exact same reverse die with the 1882-P VAM-32 (32 is the later die state). This shares the exact same obverse die with the 1882-P VAM-1C.
