Description
1882-P VAM-1B Metal in 2 Discovered by Jim Baxter, February 1975. Reinstated August 2025 1B III2 1 • C3a (Metal in 2) (180) Obverse III2 1 - Both loops of 2 have die chips and polishing marks Slight doubling on ball of 2, similar to VAM 4 but different die. Die markers – Shallow horizontal band of pitting from edge of neck near hanging curl thru hair and D shaped void. Multiple interesting fine lines under cotton bolls. Short die gouge in top of I of LIBERTY Reverse C3a - Detached two lower wreath leaves above N of ONE. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Previously eliminated as duplicate of VAM 4, but they are different
