Description
1881-O VAM-2A O/O Low, Spike in 8 Discovered by Jeff Oxman, August 1983. 2A III2 1 ∙ C3b (O/O Low, Spike in 8) (176) Obverse III2 1 - First 8 has a short spike at top left inside of upper loop. Reverse C3b - Mint mark tilted to left and repunched with original showing at bottom of opening. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # This is a different obverse die from [[1881-O VAM-2. Cracks at date are different, and there is a thin, vertical scratch on Liberty's upper lip at the back of the nostril. # 1881-O VAM-2A needs to be killed, see [[1881-O VAM-33.
