1880-P VAM-25C Double 1-80, Clashed Obverse n, We, ust, Clashed Reverse M Discovered by Scott Hamilton, Sept. 2012 on the "Squirrels" coin. Revised 2016 by Forrest This coin is a WOW! Morgan VAM. 25C (revised) III2 25- C3a (Doubled 1-80, Clashed Obverse n, We, ust, Clashed Reverse M) (180) Obverse III2 25 - Clashed die later than 1880-P VAM 25B with die crack at bottom of 880. Shallow partial incuse n of IN from reverse showing next to Liberty head neck, partial incuse We from reverse in space between hair locks at right of designer's initial M and partial incuse ust of Trust from reverse showing in right hair vee of lower hair edge. Some specimens show multiple u claash lines. Reverse C3a - Clashed die with faint raised designer's initial from obverse showing above d in GOD. Later die state from VAMs 25B and 25A with die crack at UN of UNITED and two leaves disconnected above N in ONE as in 25A but not 25B. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # There are two totally different clash episodes of the [[1880-P VAM-25 dies. One of the easier ways to tell the difference is that the lower left wreath leaves on the [[1880-P VAM-25C are disconnected from polishing. The die progression is believed to be [[1880-P VAM-25, [[1880-P VAM-25B, got polished for [[1880-P VAM-25A, then [[1880-P VAM-25C. # 1880-P VAM-31A was eliminated as a duplicate of 1880-P VAM-25C.
