1880-P VAM-1 Normal Dies 1 III2 1 ∙ C3a (Normal die) Obverse III2 – The obverse is a normal die of type III2. .Slightly doubled 80 with 8 at lower left side outside of upper loop & 0 slightly on surface at top left & lower right inside. Die marker - Horizontal polishing lines back of neck. Reverse C3a –The reverse is a Normal die of type C3a. Die marker - Short horizontal polishing line in middle of eagle's middle tail feathers. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: 1880-P VAM-9, 1880-P VAM-37, 1880-P VAM-1 Comments: There is nothing remarkable about the VAM 1. Another marriage that may be called VAM 1 has the exact reverse of VAM 8 and a fairly unremarkable obverse.
