1880-P VAM-101 Doubled Date, Bar R, Die Scratches Wing Discovered October 2011 as VAM 70.2. Revised 2015 Brickie Renumbered to VAM 101 July 2024. 101 III2 65 - C3a (Doubled Date, Bar R, Die Scratches Wing) (180) Obverse III2 65 - Doubled date with notch at 1 top left of bottom crossbar, left 8 faintly at top left inside of both loops. Right 8 at lower left outside of upper loop and 0 slightly at top left and right outside and left inside. R in PLURIBUS has vertical bar at left inside of upper opp. Sideways U of thread-like die impression at hair edge back of jaw-neck junction. Reverse C3a - Several short horizontal polishing lines at upper junction of inner and outer feathers of Eagles right wing. Short thick die gouge at top right above left bow ribbon.
